General information

GAIAFESTIVAL is an International Dance Event, which takes place in Sharm El – Sheikh, Egypt from December 3rd to December 7th, 2023.

Not just a festival!

GAIAFESTIVAL aims to create a high quality content with exceptional conditions for dancers from all over the world.

The festival consists of:

  • Intensive Workshops in 5 Dance Divisions
  • Advanced Masterclasses in 5 Dance Divisions
  • Evening Exhibitions and Contests at SOHO square stage in front of a massive audience
  • Open classes and presentations of different dance styles for everyone
  • Epic Beduine Desert Dinner with Arabic Folk and Culture presentation closing by a Desert DJ Party
  • Pool parties
  • Sunset seaview DJ sets
  • Morning practices, yoga, heat ups, etc.

The weather, the corals and the overall experience!

At the beginning of December Sharm El-Sheikh provides a perfect set of conditions to enjoy a week full of dance before Christmas time. While the weather at other continents gets freezing, Sharm still offers a wonderful sunshine and around 26-29°C temperature.

And the corals, THE CORALS!

In this period the sea is still confortable to experience and the corals are absolutely impressive. You can swim and dive right at the hotel beach with millions of colourful fishes. Unforgettable!

Besides the climate conditions, Sharm has a perfect sporting area with a huge sport hall, other halls, olympic swimming pools, congress hall, SOHO square, Old Town Market square, etc.

There are no limits to age or level of dancing. The festival is open for everyone, who wants to learn new dance styles or improve their skills. The workshops are desined for every level of dancers. For underage we also offer packages for supervisors or parents.

We welcome individual dancers, dance groups, dance schools, art schools, dance studios and anyone who is attracted in dancing!

The festival includes 5 dance divisions for workshops and masterclasses.

  • Street and Hip-Hop
  • Art Dance – Jazz, Modern Dance and Contemporary
  • Latino Dances – Salsa & Bachata
  • Belly Dance
  • Zumba & Aerobic

Each dance division offers 8 workshops (2 workshops a day) and 4 masterclasses (1 masterclass a day). All together the festival provides 40 workshops and 20 masterclasses.

The length of the workshops and masterclasses is 1h 15min.

The workshops and masterclasses will be lead by famous instructors with many years of experience and high qualitative educational skills. The language used at workshops will be English.

All the instructors will be presented soon.

The festival starts on December 3rd (Sunday) evening with an opening ceremony and finishes on December 7th evening with closing ceremony and party.

The packages of the festival includes 7 nights in the 5* Dreams Beach Hotel.

You can arrive to Sharm El-Sheikh on December 1st, 2nd, 3rd and leave od December 8th, 9th, 10th.

If you have a different arrival or departure due to flights schedule, we will try to solve it individually.

All arrivals and departures to the airport will be noted and an airport transfer will be provided to the hotel for no extra charge.

Content of the festival

Workshops

Workshops will be open to anyone who has a package for the given dance division.

The concept of the lessons will be attractive to every level of dancers.

Workshops will be held in the Sporthall, Squash hall area or Conference room.

The dance floor will be suitable for the given dance division. All venues will have a high quality stage, sound and lights equipment.

Masterclasses

Masterclasses will be open to masterclass package holders in the given division. Masterclass packages will be limited to a lower number of dancers.

Masterclasses might require deeper knowledge of given dance style. They will be kept with lower number of dancers to create a closer atmosphere.

Certificates

Each dancer will receive a certificate of participation and passing the workshops and masterclasses with the given instructors.

Exhibitions

All package holders have the right to perform at the evening exhibitions at SOHO Square. The area will offer a unique experience to dancers to show their skills not only to festival members, but also to the open public. The exhibitions will also have a media and marketing announcment by the SOHO Square management, which will draw attention of thousands of people. However organizers keep to right for the preselection of the exhibitions, based on the videos sent.

All shows of the exhibitions will be able to get a feedback from the instructors of the festival.

Exhibitions can be of any dance style. To perform at the exhibitions we require to send us the video recording of your show in advance, by November 12 latest.

The show can be of an individual dancer or a dance group. All are welcome!

Exhibitions will also offer variouse battles, which will be announced soon.

Opening ceremony

On December 3rd evening. A collective walk around the Old Town Market Square, which provides a unique atmosphere and scenery. All dancers will be grouped by countries and will hold a board with the name of the country. All country will be officially welcomed. Opening speeches will be given and the ceremony will be accompanied by other cultural performances and presentations. It will be a great celebration of the community of dancers!

Beduine Desert Dinner

An epic location in the desert surrounded by candles will be prepared for a beduine dinner accompanied by various Arabic folk and culture presentations. This area will provide an unforgettable experience and will end up in a DJ desert party.     

Closing ceremony

Celebration of the end of festival with the instructors presenting their showcases. An opportunity to meet and talk to the instructors, take pictures at the presentation wall and a dancers party till morning 🙂

Each dance division will be lead by a Dance Ambassador. Ambassadors are lifetime professionals in their dancing areas. Ambassadors have experience and strong qualification to lead the dance division, create the teaching content of the specific dance style and choose the right professional instructors to execute the content.

Each dance division will have 1-2 professional international instructors who have a lot to offer to dancers and will create a perfect atmosphere on the workshops and masterclasses. The variety of instructors and their skills will open new feelings, motivation and challenge to all the dancers.  

Packages, Booking, Flights

All festival package includes:

  • 7 nights accommodation in double rooms in 5* Dreams Beach Hotel (single room for a surcharge + 150 €)
  • Full soft all inclusive board during your stay
  • Airport transfers
  • Local transfers between the Hotel and the Venues every day
  • Beduine Desert Dinner
  • Workshops of dance division of your purchase
  • Masterclasses of dance division of your purchase
  • Merch T-Shirt

Please be aware that the package does not include flight tickets from your destination!

Packages are also offered for those, who accompany the dancers only and do not attend any workshops or masterclasses.

For groups over 10 participants, the additional participant get 50% discount on the booking.

For group over 20 participants, the additional participant get 100% discount on the booking.

  1. Fill out the online booking form, if you are making the booking for more participants, please provide this information in the last tab in additional information. Anyway we will be grouping the participants by team leader
  2. Submit the booking and we will reach back to you with the confirmation of the booking.
  3. After confirmation from both parties, we issue an advance payment order 30% of the booking value which will be due in 7 days.
  4. If you decide to pay the advance payment in full, you will receive additional 3% discount.
  5. Your booking will be valid as soon as the due amount will be credited to the bank account.
  6. Residual 70% of your booking value will be due by October 31st.

You can purchase a flight from any destination and flight company. The price of these flights are matter of the chosen flight company.

Please provide the flight information during your booking process so we can manage your arrival to the festival. If you have not booked a flight before making the booking for festival, let us know later, and we add this information to your booking afterwards.

You can cancel your booking anytime, unfortunately the closer we are to the festival, the higher the cancellation fee will be.

Cancellation by September 30th – 100% refund

Cancellation by October 15th – 80% refund

Cancellation by October 31st – 70% refund

Cancellation by November 15th – 50% refund

Cancellation by November 30th –  30% refund

Please understand that the cancellation policy is connected to the fees for goods and services required for the festival and the closer we are to the festival the lower flexibility we have in negotiations.

In case of cancellation, we recommend to find a friend who will take your place and we will not charge extra fee for changing the participants name.

Other information

Sharm El-Sheikh is a safe touristic destination. All locations and venues of the festival will be controlled by professional security services and in public areas will be also under permanent police department supervision.

The festival is approved by The Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism.

All participants must have a travel health insurance valid for Egypt.

All participants travel and attend the festival on their own responsibility.

Underage participants (below 18 years old) travel and attend the festival on the responsibility of their team leader or parents.

Packages are also offered for those, who accompany the dancers only and do not attend any workshops or masterclasses.

The festival is not responsible for any loss, injury or damage sustained by participants during their stay.

You are required to have a valid passport with expiration no sooner than June 12, 2024. The passport must be valid 6 monts after your planned returning from the festival.

On arrival you will be required to fill out a form for entry VISA and purchase the e-Visa for 25 USD on the airport. No invitation or similar documentation is required.

Egypt loves festivals and its media appearances and the festival will have media and marketing team. It means that by applying for the festival you agree with using any media recordings of you for media and marketing appearances for the following 5 years. The media includes, pictures, videos, sounds, in TV, radio, web, social media, etc.

In case you discover any appearance, you are not satisfied with, you can ask to remove. In case it is possible, we will make it happen.

By applying for the festival you agree with using your personal information provided in your booking for the following purposes:

  • Managing your booking
  • Managing your stay at the festival (accomodation, transportation, entrance to workshops, masterclasses, etc.)

For marketing purposes only your name and social media nickname. E-mails only for news and updates.

By booking the festival you understand the festival information provided on this website in the context of responsibilities, health, insurance, media and marketing, purchase and cancellation policy and and you agree with all of them.
